04 / Professional standards
Care in the work.
Clarity in the service.
Our standards guide the way we aim to plan assignments, protect property, communicate with clients and review completed work.
Explore each commitment to see what professionalism means in practice at PLACS.
Assessment before commitment
Our standard is to understand the property and the client’s priorities before agreeing a job. This means considering the condition and size of the area, access, working height, water and electricity needs, waste volume and any vulnerable features. Where photographs are used for initial pricing, significant assumptions should be checked before mobilisation. Findings that affect the method, cost or timing are discussed so that the client can make an informed decision.
Clear quotations and agreed changes
Our quotation sets out the work included, exclusions, price, payment terms and practical requirements. Our commitment is to explain what the client is paying for and to discuss additional work before proceeding. Our commitment is to record and agree changes to quantities, materials, access arrangements or requested tasks. Deposits and balance-payment arrangements are stated for the particular assignment rather than assumed to be the same for every job.
Suitable methods and care of finishes
Good workmanship includes choosing a method suited to the surface. Pressure, cleaning products and tools need to be considered in relation to paintwork, roofing, glass, fittings and surrounding materials. Our commitment is to identify visible existing defects, discuss limitations and take reasonable steps to protect nearby property. Cleaning cannot guarantee removal of every permanent stain or reverse deterioration; any need for restoration or repair is explained separately.
Safety and responsible site planning
Our service commitment is to assess hazards and plan practical controls before work starts, including equipment condition, protective wear, public access, electrical exposure and work at height. Roof cleaning requires particular attention to access, roof condition and weather. Work should be paused when conditions make the planned approach unsuitable. Necessary specialist access or additional support is discussed before proceeding, with safety taking priority over an avoidable rush to finish.
Professional conduct and communication
Our client-care commitment centres on respectful communication, clear scheduling arrangements and an explanation when conditions affect progress. Our commitment includes care around occupied homes and workplaces, responsible handling of access arrangements, and discretion concerning personal property and private spaces. Both company contact numbers are available for project enquiries and follow-up. We aim to raise concerns early and resolve questions directly so that avoidable misunderstandings do not become disputes.
Quality review and orderly handover
Our quality commitment includes a review of the finish against the agreed scope before handover. Our commitment is to identify missed areas or outstanding items, collect work-generated debris as agreed, and leave access routes orderly. A client walkthrough or other completion review can be arranged where practical. Any limitation, follow-up task or additional recommendation should be explained at handover so that the client understands what has been completed.
Environmental care and waste arrangements
Property care also involves managing the effects of the work. Our standard is to consider overspray, runoff, nearby plants, drainage and the handling of waste. Cleaning products should be used as directed, and debris should be collected rather than allowed to create a new obstruction. Waste-removal and disposal responsibilities are agreed for the assignment, with specialist waste assessed separately. The cleanup plan forms part of the service discussion.
Records and customer follow-up
Written quotations, agreed changes, invoices, receipts and suitable project records support transparent business dealings. Our commitment is to keep client payments and completed work traceable and to give concerns appropriate attention. Clients are encouraged to explain any issue with the project location and service details so that it can be reviewed. Photographs and testimonials intended for marketing are used with permission and attributed as agreed.
